In the Functional Fitness Gym:
Everyday of the week offers the opportunity to work toward your fitness goals. 30 minute and 1 hour classes focus on the components of a balanced fitness plan: strength, power, cardio, flexibility and restoration. Attend often for short bursts to develop a consistent routine or stay for a 2 hour kick-in-the-pants for true intensity!
Boot Camp - Employing tried and true callisthenic exercises and addressing the Power, Cardio, Flexibility and Strength components, this class focuses on your discipline and dedication to your fitness. Regular attendance is highly encouraged. Getting your fitness done early in the morning means you have all day to enjoy life.
Kick/Boxing Power - Connect the hands and feet with the core through traditional kickboxing and boxing drills focused on good technique, full body movements and powerful strikes against the heavy bag.
Kick/Boxing Cardio Circuit - Get the heart pumping and the sweat flowing using this timed circuit of activities and movements in the vein of traditional fighting training. Jump ropes, medicine balls and punching bags are just a few of the tools you'll use.
Functional Strength & Flexibility - Increase your range of motion and prevent injuries through dynamic flexibility drills, which strengthen the muscles when stretched, and static stretches to lengthen muscles used in most sport activities. This strength portion focuses on connecting the moving muscles with the stabilizing muscles and the core for a whole body contraction. The goal here is to make your everyday movements easier and more fun to do.
In the Ring Techniques - Let your inner Rocky Balboa out! Taught by actual boxers, you will move around the ring like a champ simulating a 10 round slugfest. Move and look like a boxer without the bruises (no actual sparring).
In the dedicated Yoga and Qi Gong studio:
Find the classes that match your style or sample a little of each to experience the whole spectrum of mind/body movement. Classes are listed from least physically demanding/most meditative to most physically demanding/least meditative.
Qi Gong for Self-Healing - Prevent illness and injury, ease aging and reduce the effects of tension. Harness your vital "chi" (life force / bio-energy) with gentle movement, conscious breathing and meditation.
Yoga for Relaxation - Leave that stressful workweek behind! Release muscles and agitation while deeply exploring rejuvenating postures (asanas) and pranayama (controlled breath).
Kundalini Yoga for Awakening - Tap into the heart of yoga. Mantras (chants), mudras (hand positions) and pranayama (controlled breath) will raise both your energy and your mindfulness.
North Star Qi Gong - Developed by martial arts masters to support their training. Using both soft and hard exercises this meditative energy training will strengthen the muscles, tendon and bones while stimulating the body's essence, vitality and spirit
Yoga for Alignment - Develop a solid foundation and education in this classical yoga class. A wide range of postures will encourage the bones and the spine into an alignment that allows for improved blood and energy flow and vitalizes every cell of the body.
Yoga for Mind/Body Balance - Get it together! Yoga means union. Joining physical postures (asanas) with mindfulness and breath, stretch and strengthen both the mind and body.
Yoga for Core Stability - Focus on the many little muscles that aid in a good posture. Breathe easier and move with more stability when this "powerhouse" group of muscles are strong.
Yoga for Purification - Expect more movement in this class as the postures are linked together with a vinyasa (sequence of movements connected with inhalations and exhalations) to make this a 75 minute flow.
